Aquaculture Sector

The Aquaculture sector is represented on the Seafood Council by the Aquaculture Licensee Committee. This committee is made up of members who are all active producers. In the Northern Territory the major aquaculture species are barramundi (121KB PDF) and prawns (167KB PDF). Producers in the NT sell mainly to the major Australian markets in the southern states. Product is also exported to Europe, USA and Japan.
